Description
Essential RE: Happiness considers whether happiness is the purpose of life, exploring Buddhist, Christian, Jewish and non-religious responses. Activities and resources give opportunities for active and thoughtful learning, comparing biblical and secular ideas of happiness; exploring responses to unhappiness and suffering; learning about a Buddhist path to happiness; and examining the question as to whether happiness is the same as pleasure, applying ethical hedonism to some case studies. Students are given the opportunity to challenge their own and others’ ideas and responses about happiness and the purpose of life.
