Description

This pack of teaching and learning activities develops self-awareness and an understanding of relationship skills for 9-11s. Activities help pupils to engage their thinking skills and emotional literacy in developing healthy relationships. It provides a firm foundation from which upper primary pupils can go on to make wise and informed choices in adolescence.
Body & Soul contains 16 A4 photocards providing high-quality images related to love and commitment in the context of marriage and partnership. These reflect a variety of religious and secular perspectives, and include information about context and questions for discussion. The accompanying Teacher's Book is full of practical, fully resourced and tested classroom activities structured around six values themes. Part of each theme is a specially commissioned story for reading aloud and classroom discussion.
The DVD provides: two detailed planning units: one for RE-focused delivery and one for PSHE; photocopiable resources and templates; film clips of key strategies in action in the classroom; and background papers to support development and planning.
Body & Soul was developed through generous support of the Jerusalem Trust, which is committed to excellence in relationship education for 9-11 year-olds.
